“Light on Lives” is a night light powered by microalgae, one of the most sustainable plants for power generation. Although microalgae produces only a small amount of energy, it is enough to power a night light as long as the water is changed regularly.

Many applications of microalgae feel distant from everyday life, but this design aims to present plant-based power generation in an approachable way. By combining existing technology with a familiar household product, it demonstrates that such innovations are closer to reality than they seem. “Light on Lives” operates without being plugged in or recharged; the microalgae itself serves as the energy source, inviting users to embrace sustainable technology in their daily routines.
